CGT leaders meet with Cabinet Chief, insist on income tax floor hike
The leaders of the pro-Government CGT labour umbrella union met today with Cabinet Chief Juan Manuel Abal Medina and once again claimed for a hike of the income tax floor.
The meeting, which took place at midday Thursday, had originally been scheduled for Tuesday, but was called off at the last minute due to certain tensions between the Government and unionists, who last week asked President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner to raise in the income tax floor within a month.
Antonio Caló, Armando Cavalieri (head of the retail workers’ union), Omar Viviani (leader of the taxi drivers’ union), Roberto Fernández (leader of the bus and train drivers union), SMATA’s Ricardo Pignanelli and obras sanitarias union leader José Luis Lingeri participated in the meeting and did not speak to journalists as they left the Government House.
Metal worker's union leader Caló was annointed as Secretary General of the anti-Moyano CGT on October 3rd.
