Uruguay's Topolansky 'worried' over Argentina's dollar restrictions

Uruguay’s first lady and senator Lucía Topolansky revealed today to be worried about the restrictions conducted by the Argentine government on the purchase of foreign currency.

During an interview with an Argentine radio, Topolansky recognized that the measure adopted by President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner “is highly worrying for us.”

But Topolansky also remarked that “thanks to the many benefits we have implemented to promote tourism, so far we haven’t seen a drastic drop in the number of Argentines coming to Uruguay.”

"So far we have launched a series of benefits for Argentines coming on vacation, and we hope it’ll work out for us. Anyway, we have a great advantage: Argentines love to spend summers in Uruguay. I don’t know how they do it now that they have all those dollar restrictions, but they keep coming.”
