Moyano dismisses claims of 2015 political alliance with Macri

Buenos Aires City Mayor Mauricio Macri and the head of the anti-government sector of the CGT umbrella labour union Hugo Moyano showed a united front at a meeting hosted by the UATRE farm hands union today, dismissing claims that they might form a political alliance ahead of the 2015 election.

Moyano simply dismissed the rumours, saying they were “rubbish.”

The gathering was hosted by UATRE farm hands union leader Gerónimo ‘Momo’ Venegas as part of the annual meeting of the Agricultural Workers Trade Group and came amid widespread critique against the government from both the city government and Moyano’s faction of the CGT umbrella labour union.

Consequently, after the meeting ended, Macri underlined that what brings the two leaders together is their “love for the country” and emphasised their shared “conviction to create a better future.”

Macri furthered that “the government doesn’t listen to anyone who thinks any differently,” also highlighting the need to “work together for everyone’s wellbeing.”

Today’s meeting took place at the union’s ‘Lorenzo Mariano Miguel’ Political School at the UATRE central branch.
