UIA: Industrial output drops 2% in August

The industrial output fell 2 percent in August year-on-year, and has accumulated a 1.3 percent drop in 2012 so far, according to the Argentina Industrial Union (UIA).

"According to the preliminar data, the industry has shown a 2 percent drop in August," the UIA stated in a communiqué.

The union also reported that the sector has grown 2.9 percent compared to the previous month, but "it has accumulated a 1.3 percent drop during the first eight months of the year."
