Students lift school takeovers

Fifty schools were still closed due to student protests over education reform in Buenos Aires City.

Students from almost fifty Buenos Aires City schools decided to lift the takeovers and end the month-long protest over curriculum reforms backed by Education Minister Esteban Bullrich.

The decision was announced after Bullrich had announced that classes were going to last until December 30 due to the classes lost during the sit-ins.

Besides the takeovers lift, the students decided to call off the march to City and Nacional Education Ministries that was scheduled to take place on Thursday

Nevertheless, they will hold a festival on Wednesday to give a closure to the measure.
