Binner: 'An alliance with Macri would be like mixing water with oil'
The leader of the Broad Progressive Front (FAP) and former Santa Fe governor, Hermes Binner, ruled out any possibility of creating an electoral front with BA City Mayor Mauricio Macri, assuring that “doing so would be like trying to mix water with oil.”
He also said he is certain that President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner is looking to reform the Constitution so she can seek a third period in 2015.
“She became President under one Constitution and it is neither ethical nor moral for her to amend it while still holding office,” Binner explained.
On a different matter, the Socialist leader referred to the recent presidential elections in Venezuela and compared them to the future elections in Argentina.
“Chávez’s victory denotes a decision by the population that we need to respect in the same way we like our elections to be respected,” Binner concluded.
