Police officer shot in Almirante Brown dies

A Buenos Aires province police officer died today after being gunned down yesterday in a faceoff with delinquent youths who were trying to rob a butchers in Almirante Brown, police officials informed.

Officer Ricardo Rafael Giménez, 52, died in hospital this morning where he had been being treated shortly after the incident occurred yesterday afternoon in San José, located southern region of the province.
