Sarmiento train line service resumed

The Sarmiento train line service was running again between Once and Moreno stations after being temporarily suspended this morning due to a strike by station workers.

The strike had been put in place by workers demanding the re-instatement of a recently laid-off employee. Thousands of commuters were affected by the measure.

The announcement was made in a communiqué sent by the UGOMS management unit for the line that labelled the measure “arbitrary.”

According to the service operator, the motive was linked directly with the letting go of an employee shortly after a train derailment occurred on the lines last month.
