UCR qualifies Despouy's replacement as 'institutional coup'
The head of the Radical Party (UCR), Mario Barletta, assured that the bloc will not accept "such a violation" as the replacement of Leandro Despouy as the head of the Nation's General Audit (AGN) and stated that the radical leader "will remain as the legitimate head" of the control agency.
"Despouy is and will remain as the legitimate head of the AGN. This is an intent of institutional coup, against democracy and action ignoring the National Constitution," assured Barletta during a press conference held at the UCR headquarters.
Meanwhile, Despouy assured that he "will remain at my post," despite the fact that earlier this morning, the pro-government bloc replaced Despouy as the head of the AGN during the encounter of the Congress Accounts Controlling Committee.
The pro-government bloc replaced UCR's Despouy as the head of the AGN in a surprising move, after considering that his term had come to an end.
According to the head of the Committee, Victory Front's lawmaker Fabián Ríos, Despouy's administration "began on March 19, 2002, and, as it's an eight-years post, it expired on March 19, 2010." The Kirchnerites stated that as he had not ratified his post, it was vacant.
