Congress calls on Coast Guards to 'adapt their actions to democratic guidelines'
Amidst the conflict triggered by the Coast Guard and Gendarmerie officials' claim, the pro-government bloc, along with other opposition blocs, summoned the heads of the Upper and Lower House of Congress to analyze the situation.
After the meeting, the members of the Lower House released a statement in which they urged "the security forces to adapt their actions to the democratic guidelines, in compliance with the National Constitution."
The meeting of the party's heads was held at the office of the head of the Lower House, Julián Domínguez, and the statement was signed by Norma Abdala de Matarazzo (Santiago's Civic Front), Alicia Ciciliani (PS), Agustín Rossi (Victory Front), Ricardo Gil Lavedra (Radical Party), Federico Pinedo (PRO), Alfonso Prat Gay (Civic Coalition), Juan Carlos Zabalza (FAP), Eduardo Amadeo (Peronist Front), Carlos Heller (Nuevo Encuentro), Patricia Bullrich (Unión por Todos), Victoria Donda (Libres del Sur), Juliana Di Tullio (FPV - PJ), and María Teresa García (FPV - PJ).
At the same time, while the Upper House was in session, the Kirchnerite bloc and the majority of opposition parties voted in favour of this statement.
