Timerman 'surprised' by Israel's reaction on Iran meeting
Foreign Minister Héctor Timerman
Foreign Minister Héctor Timerman met with his Israeli counterpart Avigdor Lieberman, who assured he was not aware of the Israeli Embassy’s communiqué which harshly criticized Argentina's talks with Iran.
“Timerman expressed his surprise over the publication of a statement of the Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires, which was released before the meeting between the both Foreign Ministers. Foreign Minister Lieberman and his envoy said they were not aware of the press release,” the Argentine Foreign Ministry said.
During his meeting with Lieberman, Timerman stressed Argentina “has always based its decisions on the victims and their families, taking into account the Argentine legal system to establish responsibilities in the AMIA case.”
