Timerman holds meeting with Iranian officials in New York
Foreign Minister Héctor Timerman (L) and his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Salehi (R).
Argentine Foreign Minister Héctor Timerman met with his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Salehi at the United Nations headquarters in New York, and announced that they decided to continue negotiations through government officials from both ministries in Geneva next month.
Joined by Argentine Deputy Foreign Minister Eduardo Zuain and the Iranian General Director for American Affairs Reza Zabib, both officials agreed to continue negotiations at the UN office in Geneva next month in order to explore a legal mechanism that is not at odds with the Argentine or Iranian legal systems.
They also decided that this process will not be interrupted until they both find a mutually agreed solution to all matters related to the AMIA case.
