'Let's hope the City Gov't doesn't decide to close the subway,' Randazzo

Interior Minister Florencio Randazzo

Interior Minister Florencio Randazzo hopes that “the City Mayor doesn’t decide to close the subway” as the Metrovías concessionary company announced that the service cannot continue without subsidies, which Macri refuses pay.

“I hope that the City Mayor does not decide to close the subways, I want to be optimistic and think he’s a responsible man,” Randazzo said when asked about the issue in a press conference in which he announced that Siemens will have to pay back $62 million pesos to the State following a breech of contract of works in the Sarmiento railways.

Regarding the future of the subway service, Randazzo ratified that the National Government will continue to pay subsidies until December, and that from then onwards the responsibility lies in the City Government’s hands.
