Kicillof unveils details of gov’t housing project in BA City
Deputy Economy Minister Axel Kicillof detailed today the administration’s plans for the construction of eleven new housing projects during a ceremony for the third lottery installment of the Pro.Cre.Ar home programme, a national government venture which assigns loans to those citizens who lack plots of land to build.
The official said today the government plans to build eleven complexes creating a total of 5040 new homes.
“There is a housing deficit after a neoliberal state left a lot of people without a home,” he said.
“The government has now eleven plots and plans to build over five thousand new homes,” Kiciloff explained.
Kicillof reiterated today those complexes are to be located on the Pompeya, Parque Patricios, Palermo, Caballito and Liniers neighbourhoods.
The new phase of ProCreAr housing programme was launched last night by President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.
The deputy minister also revealed the government will be put out to tender the execution of new developments on the three neighborhoods which are expected to be used to cover the Sarmiento Line.
The funds that the State will obtain from construction tenders will be used to finance tunneling of the Sarmiento railway as announced by President Fernández de Kirchner last night.
“We are lacking big infrastructure works for the large City of Buenos Aires,” Kicloff said and called on city’s mayor Mauricio Macri to “respond to the citizen’s needs,” as he referred to the national government versus local administration notorious quarrels.
