B line subway strike lifted, service resumes

The B line service of the BA subway was suspended due to a union protest.

The B line subway service resumed this morning after being suspended for five hours between  Leandro N. Alem station and Los Incas because of a UTA union protest, subway workers said.

The subway service was stopped at 5 am this morning, causing delays on thousands of people's morning commute.

According to the workers, the union members are demanding the days that were withheld from their pay following the strike carried out in August.

For the second consecutive day, the Buenos Aires City subway suffered delays, however, yesterday it was subway line D that was undergoing difficulties after a burst of smoke was detected at Bulnes station. The station was evacuated and the subway line service was delayed for a period of almost two hours until the all clear was given by officials. The cause of the smoke was not stated.
