'Government's child benefit scheme's a failure,' Bullrich

City Education Minister Esteban Bullrich, sustained today that the government’s child benfit scheme ‘Asignación Universal por Hijo (AUH)’ is a “policy failure,” and that increasing the amount “generates a problem for all society,” putting forward an option to swap the benefit for a “work subsidy.”

“Raising the AUH just shows the government is incapable of resolving the problem of poverty. The only way that it thinks it can resolve people’s problems is by offering them more money,” Bullrich said today.

“The reality is that more money can generate a problem for society at any time.”
