Di Stefano says Pelé was better than Messi and Ronaldo

The Argentine and former Real Madrid super star Alfredo Di Stefano said to admire both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, but still feels that the Brazil international Pelé was a step above.

“Messi and Ronaldo are both great players with specific qualities, but Pele was the best player ever”, Di Stefano told reporters.

“Messi is the more technical player of the two. He's better inside the area, the way he handles the ball and dribbles. You can see that he enjoys himself playing.

“Cristiano has a better body and is physically very strong. He has pace, speed and courage. Plus he can finish with both legs.”

The 86-year-old Di Stefano made over 300 appearances for Madrid between 1953 and 1964, scoring 246 goals for the “Merengues” and winning five European Cups in the process.

With 701 games played and 555 goals Di Stefano is considered one of the best football players off all times.
