Trade surplus climbs 102% in August
The trade surplus reached $1.637 billion dollars in August, and climbed 102 percent against the same month in 2011, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner announced.
The Head of State stated during a rally that the surplus has accumulated $10.040 billion dollars during the first eight months of the year, and assured that "it has exceeded the volume expected for the whole year."
Fernández de Kirchner affirmed that the imports have dropped 17 percent in August, while the exports fell 6 percent, year-on-year.
