Moyano opponents praise gov’t for healthcare measures
Luz y Fuerza energy workers' union leader Oscar Lescano praised the national government today for its reform of the state compensations to union-controlled healthcare schemes. The unions have long demanded the payment of what they described as a debt owed to them by the Health Ministry in compensation for the treatment of seriously ill patients.
During an interview to a local radio station the union leader considered the new measures an “important step” towards the assessment of the unions' demands.
“It is an important answer to the unions' claims, one the State was refusing to give”, Lescano said and added, “It is not the final solution, but it is a good start.”
Yesterday, Superintendent of Health Services Liliana Korenfeld unveiled a new system that will manage the requests for compensations made by the healthcare schemes and also manage the two billion-peso subsidy.
