Randazzo announces new railway safety measures
Interior Minister Florencio Randazzo
Interior Minister Florence Randazzo announced a new series of safety measures in railways, which will include the addition of more flagmen in each level crossing. Concessionary companies will also have to open reception centres for to provide support and control for motormen.
A team of doctors and psychologists will have to certify that motormen are fit to drive the engines. Concessionary companies will have 60 days to open control centres.
Randazzo also announced that Raúl Baridó will replace ousted Undersecretary for Rail Transport Antonio Luna, who was asked to step down on Tuesday.
