Del Potro defeats Harrison, advances in US open

Argentine top-seeded player Juan Martín Del Potro defeated Ryan Harrison 6-2, 6-3, 2-6 and 6-2 in the second round of the men’s singles at the US open on Friday.

Del Potro, ranked 8th in the ATP world ranking, won his debut match at the tournament on Wednesday against French player Florent Serra.

The player known as "Tandil's Tower" will now face fellow countryman Leonardo Mayer (63), who defeated Spain's Tommy Robredo (178) by 6-1, 6-4, 4-6 and 7-5, in a two hours and 40 minutes game.
