'We've demonstrated we can rule, despite lack of media support'
President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner inaugurated today four new branches of the Autovía Mesopotámica, a national route. Speaking from Concordia, Entre Rios province, the head of state announced the end of works of route 14 and celebrated her administration’s progress despite the lack of support from the local biggest media groups.
‘We have demonstrated we can rule with the people despite the lack big media corporation’s endorsement’
During her speech, the president also called for national unity regardless of eventual differences. “Even if you don’t agree with this administration, think in Argentina as nation first,” she urged.
“This is a government inaugurating dreams, mostly dreams people thought we couldn’t deliver,” Fernández de Kirchner stressed.
And added: “We have come from a profound and brutal economic crisis and, we are proud to say, that in nine years we have grown more than in 200 hundred years.”
The president also took a moment to remember the repression of Argentines during the darkest years of the dictatorship before rejoicing the nation’s current status.
“This is a free Argentina where people can think whatever they like. We are a profoundly democratic country,” Fernández de Kirchner concluded.
