Six teachers removed from school over video mocking Macri, Bullrich
The City Ministry of Education informed that it had decided to remove six teachers from their positions in a Monte Castro public school over a “disrespectful representation” of Mayor Mauricio Macri and Education Minister Esteban Bullrich.
According to ministry sources, authorities had decided to remove the headmaster, the deputy headmaster, the secretary, two teachers and a librarian from the Monte Castro “3 de 18” school staff after “violating several of the obligations detailed in Article 6 of the Teachers’ Statutes.”
The incident, which took place last March 20th, was filmed by one of the parents of the 6-year-olds observing the presentation, and it was a play in which the teachers impersonated Macri and Bullrich as they discussed the class integration in the city.
The Education Workers’ Union (UTE), condemned the measure and accused the City Government of “curtailing freedom of expression by persecuting and punishing those who express their ideas.”
