BA province to aid flooded districts with $400,000
The Buenos Aires province Government carries out an emergency programme to assist the districts affected by the intense rains that hit the area in the last few days. As evacuees were returning home, Vice-Governor Gabriel Mariotto visited the areas and announced that the provincial Senate will send 400,000 pesos in aid.
After more than 600 people were evacuated in different cities of Buenos Aires province, Mariotto visited Azul and explained “that although the water is receding, new problems are beginning.”
“In this case each mayor will actively to solve citizen’s problems, and will receive support from the provincial and national Governments,” Mariotto added.
As the levels of water rose in rivers, 68o people were evacuated from Azul, Tres Arroyos, Necochea, Mar del Plata, San Cayetano, Rauch, Lobería, Olavarría, Laprida. González Chávez, Tandil, La Matanza and Pilar, among other localities.
