CFK defends young people in politics at Antonio Rivero commemoration
President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner made her first public appearance since recovering from a bout of low blood pressure and gave a televised speech from the Government House, on the 179th anniversary of the hoisting of the Malvinas flag on the islands.
While leading the ceremony paying homage to ‘Gaucho’ Antonio Rivero, the President questioned those who criticize young people who get involved in politics.
“It annoys them that they dance, that they be politically active.
“I don’t know what it is that they want, leave them in peace to be able to make their own mark on history, because they are doing it in a different country to what we grew up in.”
Cabinet Chief Juan Manuel Abal Medina, Interior and Transport Minister Florencio Randazzo and other Government officials were present.
