Victims remembered six months on from Once tragedy
Families and friends of those who died and were injured in the fatal train crash at Once central station, gathered this morning at the station to remember the victims, six months on from the incident.
At the memorial this morning, Paolo Menghini, father of one of the victims, Lucas Menghini highlighted the possibility of another accident of similar stature being “right around the corner,” making reference to the recent problems on various different train tracks across Buenos Aires.
“What happened the other day in Buenos Aires station is a clear sign that we are very close to experiencing another tragedy.”
“At Retiro, the causes of last week’s derailment have yet to be defined, as well as the other minor accidents that took place on the railways,” Menghini said.
“The possibility of another tragedy occurring is always present.”
