Sweden not to extradite Assange should he face death penalty

In an interview to the Frankfurter Rundschau newspaper, Deputy Director of the Service for Criminal Cases and International Cooperation of Sweden’s Justice Ministry Cecilia Riddselius told Swedish authorities would not extradite WikiLeaks website founder Julian Assange, to the United States in case he could face capital punishment.
According to her, the United States so far has made no official requests for the WikiLeaks founder’s extradition either to Stockholm or to London.
If Assange is extradited to Sweden, he may be further handed over to the United States, where he could face death penalty for the publication of secret cables of the US State Department.
