Former police officer murdered outside Pol-ka production company

A retired police officer died after he was shot as he resisted a robbery attempt after he returned from running errands in a bank to production company Pol-ka, in the City neighbourhood of Colegiales, where he worked as a security guard.

Police sources identified the man as Carlos Rampirola, a former sergeant who retired eight years ago and had worked as a security guard in actor Adrián Suar’s production company.

The incident took place this afternoon outside Pol-ka, which is located on Jorge Newbery street, when Rampirola clashed with a thief who wound up with a shot in his leg.

Sources explained that Rampiro acted as security detail to a high ranking Pol-ka executive who went to a bank to run a credit-card related errand, and did not deposit nor withdrew any cash. As they returned to the production company, they were ambushed by a man riding a motorcycle and holding a 9 mm gun.

A cshoot-out ensued and Rampirola was shot in his chest and the leg. He was taken to the nearby de Los Arcos clinic, where he died in the operating room as a result of the heavy amount of blood he lost.
