Buenos Aires stocks higher after Boden bond payoff

Buenos Aires stocks were 0.9 percent higher today, with the Merval benchmark stock index reaching 2,396.78 points, following the paying off of the $2.197-billion-dollar bond known as Boden 2012.

The Government today made its final $2.2 billion payment on bonds issued to savers whose dollar- denominated bank accounts were frozen by the government a decade ago.

Meanwhile, Argentina's country-risk fell by 3.05 percent standing at 1,050 basis points in the JP Morgan EMBI index.
