'Euro zone crisis resembles Argentina's situation in 2001'
President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner said today that t"he euro zone is undergoing a unprecedented, formidable speculative attack" and likened the situation "to what happened in Argentina in 2011, with the mega debt swap and the plating,” during a ceremony at the City Stock Exchange, to announce the payment of the last installment of the dollar denominated Boden 2012 bonds.
“There’s a formidable funding to banks to allow them to remove themselves from awkward situations, because they are the same banks that loaned money,” the Head of State added.
Fernández also assured that "the world is undergoing a remarkable speculative crisis as hardly ever seen before," and that it is the root of economic troubles in Europe and the US.
