Mónaco ousted from Olympic Wimbledon
Argentine tennis player Juan "Pico" Mónaco was eliminated from London 2012 Olympic Games after Spain's Feliciano López defeated him by 6-4, 6-4 in the second round.
This result leaves Juan Martín Del Potro as the only Argentine tennis player at the men's singles, who will face French Gilles Simon for a place in the quarter-finals.
Previously, Córdoba's David Nalbandian has been eliminated (defeated by Serb Janko Tipsarevic) as Carlos Berlocq (lost to Russian Alex Bogomolov).
Also, Nalbandian and Eduardo Schwank lost in their debut at men's doubles against French Jo-Wilfred Tsonga and Michel Llodrá, as Gisela Dulko and Paola Suárez were also defeated in doubles by China's Na Li and Shuai Zhang.
The other chance for Argentina is the mixed doubles that will be played by Del Potro and Dulko, and they will debut against Russia's Elena Vesnina and Mikhail Youzhny.
Mónaco, who arrived in London with his new top ten position in the ATP ranking and had a positive debut against Belgian David Goffin, faced his Spaniard opponent with the aim to beat him.
But the Argentine's efforts were not enough, and López recovered rapidly to defeat him.
Feliciano López will now face French Tsonga, who has eliminated Canadian Milos Raonic by 6-3, 3-6, and 25-23.
