Double Sculls semis: Argentina from end to end

Argentina's Ariel Suárez and Cristian Rosso outplayed all rivals with a time of 6:19.40 to win their men's double sculls semifinals at Eton Dorney during the London 2012 Olympic Games, thus advancing to Thursday's finals with serious chances of climbing the podium.

Meanwhile, Slovenia was the top qualifier in semifinal 2 with a time of 6:19.97. The other top qualifiers were New Zealand with 6:19.79, Italy with 6:20.68, Lithuania with 6:21.62 and Great Britain with 6:22.47.

Suárez remarked that today's tremendous victory "is historic", and added, "We'll be heading the finals' poll on Thursday, something that hasn't happened in a very long time for Argentina's rowing and we are so proud of it."
