City Gov't, power companies Edesur, Edenor reach deal

The Obelisk in downtown Buenos Aires lies in the dark due to a conflict between the City and two power companies.

City Economy Minister Néstor Grindetti announced that an agreement had been reached with power companies Edenor and Edesur to bring light back to several public areas of the city that have remained in the dark for several days due to several unpaid bills.

He explained that the three parties signed an agreement in which the City vows to “maintain its claim for its rights.”

Grindetti explained that the City will pay the current debt in five installments.
