Macri blasts the Gov’t: 'Arrogance does not motivate anything'

Buenos Aires City Mayor Mauricio Macri rejected the National Government’s political prods made toward the City Goverment regarding the subway conflict and stated that “arrogance does not motivate anything.”

The mayor was questioned today by the press during a cultural event at La Rural and denied that the transfer had gone through between the governments, reiterating past claims for the National Government to invest the correct amount of money -according to the City administration-into the subway service in order for them to take control.

“The transfer has not been put through and when they say it has, they are lying. I do hope that this is reversed.”

The statements were made in reply to what Interior Minister Florencio Randazzo said yesterday, when he reaffirmed Macri’s obligation to go through with the handover.

Yesterday Randazzo said: “It is clear whose responsibility the subway as it represents a city provided service."

“I trust the head of the City government will act accordingly. They have to take charge as they are running out of options.”
