Villa 31 slum residents disrupt traffic in Retiro

A group of Villa 31 residents were blocking off roads in the Retiro neighbourhood this morning, causing traffic delays.

A group of residents from the Villa 31 slum blocked traffic on Wednesday morning at the intersection of Antártida Avenue and Ramos Mejía road in Retiro neighbourhood causing delays in the area.

The group was protesting against the limited power supplies to the shanty town.

As a result, the entry and exit of vehicles at the long-distance bus terminal experienced several delays.

Federal Police officers diverted traffic down Ramón Castillo and Comodoro Py roads in a bid to regulate traffic flow.

The picket was lifted once the residents reached an agreement with a power company.

It was the second consecutive day this week that Villa 31 residents disrupted city traffic in the area.
