Strike, roadblocks begin in Buenos Aires province

Teachers in Buenos Aires province were also threatening to not rebegin classes after Winter holidays due to the two-installment payment of their midyear bonus.

Teachers, court workers, health and administrative workers in the province of Buenos Aires began their promised 48-hour strike this morning to protest the government’s payment of midyear bonuses in four installments.

Pueyrredón Bridge, San Juan Avenue at the intersection with 9 de Julio Avenue and the intersection of General Paz motorway with San Martín Avenue are currently being blo0cked off.

Several roadblocks and protests were carried out across La Plata in addition to different parts of the province.

Teachers joined the protest warning classes might not be resumed after the winter holidays if a solution to the two-payment plan for the midyear bonus was not found.
