UIA head says dollar restrictions are 'over exaggerated'

UIA head José De Mendiguren.

President of the Argentine Industrial Union (UIA), José de Mendiguren, stated this morning that the restrictions on dollar purchases “are over exaggerated.”

During a radio interview, De Mendiguren commented that the restrictions in place “cause people to think as though we are going through other stages in Argentine history, where it really was a crisis.”

“Today there is no crisis due to a dollar shortage,” De Mendiguren assured.

In terms of the overall economic situation in the country, the UIA head said: “the economic indexes are lower, but there is hope for a better second semester.”
