An apartment in the Watergate office complex in Washington, a flat which was at the centre of the political scandal which pushed President Richard Nixon to resign in 1974, has been sold for the record price of US$3.1 million dollars, local real estate sources informed.
John Lee, a businessman who specialises in new technologies, and already owner of a house in the outer areas of the US capital city, is now the proud owner of the 345 metre property.
The US$3.1 million dollar price marks a record price for apartments bought in the building whose name is directly associated with the scandal involving Nixon’s government.
