Oyarbide calls off Schoklender’s hearing

Sergio Schoklender.

Federal Judge Norberto Oyarbide called off today the scheduled hearing in which Sergio Schoklender was to give further evidence, due to transportation issues from Ezeiza prison, where the former financial manager for the Madres de Plaza de Mayo is currently held.

Schoklender was supposed to give more evidence in the case in which he is accused of using State funds illegally, which were supposed to be used for a housing construction programme labelled ‘Shared Dreams’, court sources said.

In order for the hearing to have taken place, Schoklender was to have been moved from Ezeiza prison to the Retiro federal courts, but there were problems with the Federal Penitentiary Service that transports prisoners.
