A teenager and a 54-year-old man were arrested today in connection with the robbery attempt in the Western Greater Buenos Aires district of Morón, which ended up with a pregnant woman shot in one leg.

Geraldine Benítez was shot in one leg when an armed robber tried to surprise her and her fiancée at the moment the couple was entering their home in Castelar neighbourhood last night. Benítez's boyfriend tried to avoid the robbery by swinging punches at the thieve, who stepped back and deliberately aimed for the woman's leg.

According to medical reports, she suffered a minor injury with no bone fractures and has no risk of loosing the baby.

Police chief Sergio Bianchi told reporters the two suspects were arrested in Ramos Mejía, where "half an hour later after allegedly shooting the pregnant woman, these suspects robbed a car."
