Three-day mourning period for Chubut victims made official

The Government House flag was flying at half mast today in remembrance of those who lost their lives in the tragic road accident which took place yesterday in Chubut province, killing 12 people.

The Government made official a three-day period of mourning for the victims of the horrific accident that took place yesterday in Chubut, which claimed the lives of nine Border Guards and three civilians.

The measure was announced yesterday by President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner during a speech made at the Government House.

Today, a decree was published in the Official Gazette, signed by the Head of State, Cabinet Chief Juan Manuel Abal Medina and Security Minister Nilda Garré.

“The National Government gives all of its support to the family members of the victims,” read the official text.

In addition, the massive flag next to the Government House was flying at half mast.
