Congress condemns ousting of Paraguay's Lugo
Senators in the Upper House vote in favour of condemning the ousting of Fernando Lugo.
During a special session in Congress on Monday in order to analyze the current political crisis affecting Paraguay, both houses passed a bill declaring that Argentina rejects “the interruption of the democratic order” in the neighbouring country.
The document expresses its support for the “kindred population” of Paraguay and repudiates the ousting of Paraguayan president Fernando Lugo, who was impeached and removed from office last Friday.
The special session began at 7 pm and was headed by both house leaders, Vice-President Amado Boudou and the head of the Lower House Julián Domínguez.
