Tomada announces 4M pesos fine for Teamsters’ Union

Labour Minister Carlos Tomada announced that throughout the day a 4 millions pesos fine will be addressed to the Teamsters’ Union due to its rejection to the compulsory conciliation dictated by the Ministry after the truckers rejected a 22 percent salary increase offered by the sector’s businessmen.

On radio talks, Tomada remarked that the union led by Pablo Moyano "Never wanted to talk and/or negotiate. Everytimje we set a meeting, they showed up and stayed for not more than 15 minutes to then go out and announce all kind of strikes: cash-van drivers, rubbish collectors, and now fuel distribution."

Likewise, the Minister considered that all these extreme measures "do not respond to a simple collective bargaining talks process, there's something more behind their actions."

Furthermore, the official warned that he will not host the teamsters' union on Friday as it was scheduled "untill they demosntrate to be a union willing to negotiate in good faith"
