Gas supply in BA Province 'guaranteed,' Mariotto
Buenos Aires province vice-governor Gabriel Mariotto harshly criticized the strike and block to oil refineries by the Teamsters’s union and assured the measure is a “is a whim and is based on an internal union problem.”
“This is a whim, related to a internal union problem. This only makes their claims harsher, whether they are legitimate or not,” Mariotto told reporters, following a meeting with Security Secretary Sergio Berni and Planning Ministry officials at the Centinela Building in order to guarantee gas and fuel supplies.
“Teamsters have taken a untimely decision,” Mariotto added and clarified that security forces are acting within their rights to be able to unblock the access to fuel refineries and distributors.
“I know that there are truck drivers that are willing to collaborate and will fulfill their duties as workers and patriots that they are.”
Mariotto also explained that the Gendarmerie officers are working to guarantee the supply of gas and fuel, particularly to the very cold Winter temperatures.
