'They are trying to scare our workers,' Moyano

CGT union leader Hugo Moyano

Teamsters’ union Secretary General Hugo Moyano warned that the Government deployed gendarmerie officers to oil refineries and distributors where truck drivers are blocking fuel, petrol and gas distribution.

CGT head Moyano said he was worried over the possibility of clashes between workers and armed forces due to “the strong presence of security forces in certain oil refineries.”

“We are perceiving an attitude of frightening our workers like in Luján de Cuyo and Campana. There will probably an order from a judge to pressure our workers back into their jobs. We hope that neither the Police nor the Gendarmerie do something to harm the health and lives of our workers.”

Moyano justified the strike national strike affecting petrol distribution due to the lack of the increase of the income tax floor, "which takes away any increase our workers obtain."

“They want to scare people, but this will not happen because people want to end this unfortunate tax which is affecting workers,” he concluded.
