Main suspect of killing River fan refuses to testify

Soria was taken to a Buenos Aires City court this morning.

The main suspect of stabbing to death River's fan Gonzalo Saucedo at the Monumental stadium last weekend, during a River- Boca Unidos match, Matias “El Mati” Soria refused to testify before Judge Jorge López, judicial sources informed today.

This morning, Soria was taken to court after having spent the weekend in prison at a Police Station in the City neighbourhood of Saavedra. Once in court, he followed his lawyer’s recommendation to withhold testimony.

Soria was arrested roaming the streets of Mendoza on Friday. Prosecutor José María Campagnoli explained his arrest was made possible after police raided his house.

Campagnoli said evidence now relies on text messages found on Soria’s cellular phone.
