Máximo Kirchner 'recovering well' in hospital
Máximo Kirchner, the elder and only son of President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, was recovering well, following his knee surgery for septic arthritis he underwent on Monday, and is to remain under medical observation for a week, the Austral Hospital said today.
In a press communiqué sent this morning, the hospital said that the patient “is recovering well, without pain and has rested well.” In addition the document said that “the patient has begun physiotherapy rehabilitation and continues to take antibiotics” in his post-operation treatment.
On Monday, the President's son was rushed to a local hospital in Río Gallegos, Santa Cruz province, before being moved to the Austral University Hospital in Pilar, where he underwent emergency surgery for septic arthritis in his right leg.
The founder of La Cámpora youth movement is to stay under medical observation for the next week, in order to recover fully from his operation.
