PRO praises new Gov't programme, blasts Kicillof over 'irresponsible' statements

City Cabinet Chief Horacio Rodríguez Larreta praised the National Government's announcement to create a mortgage loans programme and compared it to one recently started by City Hall. However, he blasted Deputy Economy Minister Axel Kicillof for "failing to acknowledge the City's reality."

The PRO official said that Kicillof "speaks of real estate bubbles and other misinformation when in fact the city of Buenos Aires has a high rate of construction sites and a huge potential for greater constructivity."

"Through his statements, he showed that he does not know the reality of the City," he said in a written statement released after the National Government's announcement.

Kicillof had blasted City Hall's mortgage financing programmes by calling them "irresponsible" and capable of creating "a real estate bubble."
