'Solving problems of the 21st century with a 19th century textbook is impossible,’ CFK
The bill unifying the Civil and Commercial codes, which now includes new provisions regarding marriage, divorce, adoption, in vitro fertilization and trade partnerships recently entered the Upper House, where after several weeks of committee evaluations, it will be voted on the Senate floor.
In this context, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner took to her Twitter account on Sunday and assured that “it is impossible to solve the problems of the 21st century with a 19th century textbook. It does not apply to what is happening in the world today,” she explained.
“The new bill unifying the Civil and Commercial codes has entered the Senate. The bill improves our most personal rights, those that affect our everyday lives,” she added.
The bill will be discussed in a bicameral committee, which will be created through a special resolution that must be created by the heads of both houses in Congress, Amado Boudou (Senate) and Julián Domínguez (Lower House).
