18 dead and 37 injured after coach crashes in Bolivia

At least eighteen people were killed and thirty-seven injured, after a passenger coach skidded off a main road and fell some 120 metres into a ravine along los Yungas routeway, in the area of La Paz.

The accident occurred yesterday at around midday, close to the area of Acero Markaaún.

The bus was carrying students and teachers from Chicaloma school in Irupana to La Paz so that they could participate in a sports competition.  

Police were investigating into what caused the crash today.
